Derek Moy
Director of House Churches
Derek Moy is a husband, father, and board game fanatic. He is married to Quinn Moy with two boys, Isaac and Samuel. Born and raised in Boerne, Texas, he was brought up by a loving family of his parents and an older sister. While he was in high school, his whole family came to know and love the Lord, drastically altering their lives together.
Derek attended Texas A&M University where, after a short time, he felt the Lord calling him to a career in ministry. Wanting to earn his degree first, he pursued an undergraduate and graduate degree in accounting, with a certificate in non-profit management. During his time at A&M, out of a love for the Lord and urgency to pursue the lost, he served as a volunteer Young Life leader at College Station High School. It was on his Young Life team where he met his wife, Quinn.
After graduating, Derek and Quinn moved to Houston where Derek began a job with an accounting firm called KPMG. After a little under two years of working for KPMG, he felt the Lord confirming the call he first felt in college to ministry, so he left his corporate job and joined the staff at Seven Mile. Derek has a passion for outreach and discipleship, specifically for raising up those in leadership positions. He loves playing sports or board games of any kind, discovering new shows with his wife, and watching Aggie football.
