OUR HOUSTON PARTNERSHIPS

Our church’s local partnerships reflect God’s heart for the widow, orphan, sojourner, and poor. Through our network of House Churches, we partner with over twenty trusted local organizations that serve vulnerable communities with dignity and hope. These partnerships allow us to engage personally and meaningfully, meeting real needs with the love of Christ. Together, we seek the flourishing of our city and the people God calls us to love. See below for examples of House Churches living out their mission to serve our city.

“Do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”
— Zechariah 7:10

The Widow

7MR volunteers at camp through YoungLives with teen moms. YoungLives supports pregnant and parenting teens through by empowering them to make positive choices, set and achieve goals, and live a future rooted in Christ.

We believe that God calls His people to protect and care for those who are most vulnerable and have known the sorrow of loss or abandonment. Out of this posture of compassion, we long to provide a loving sense of community for widows, both figurative and literal, in our midst.

The Orphan

Oak Forest HC partnered with BEAR (Be A Resource) to provide hygiene kits and backpacks. BEAR is an organization that provides support for abused, neglected, and at-risk children in our community.

We have a unique desire to love the orphan as we believe that God is "a father to the fatherless" (Psalm 68:5). He calls us to care for those without family as a reflection of His own steadfast love.

THE SOJOURNER

7MR partners each year with Prestige Learning Institute to help with English Camp. PLI serves immigrant and refugee communities in SW Houston.

We love the sojourner because God calls His people to welcome the stranger, remembering that we, too, were once sojourners in need of a place to belong (Deuteronomy 10:19).

The MARGINALIZED

The Hermann Park HC partnering with Jericho Road Renewal. JRR serves southeast Houston by providing supportive housing for marginalized men and women.

We believe that serving those without material belongings is an extension of the radical generosity that God has extended to us. We long to be the hands and feet of Christ as we demonstrate God's justice, mercy, and heart for the lowly (Micah 6:8)
